Twenty-six-year-old Jack joined us as an Area Sales Manager in November 2019 with responsibility for new sales opportunities and account management in the areas covered by our Norwich and Ipswich offices.
He previously worked as a Branch Rental Manager at Enterprise Rent-a-car and had five years’ experience in the car rental/leasing industry, dealing with both retail and business customers.
Jack wanted to move from management into a sales role but confesses that he had very little experience of trucks or trailers! So, moving to Dawsongroup set him on a steep learning curve, in more ways than one.
However, he joined us with a very good understanding of short and long-term asset leasing and his enthusiasm and flair for sales made up for this lack of sector experience.
He quickly got his teeth into the challenges of his new job and the support of a fantastic truck and trailer team, both locally and across the company, made riding the learning curve much easier.
Less than a year after joining us, Jack’s role was extended to cover the whole of East Anglia through our Norwich, Peterborough and Ipswich offices.
Again, his enthusiasm and dedication helped him rise to the challenges of his new job. He’s already brought new customers into the business that hadn’t previously dealt with us. Notable successes include a large raw pet food producer and a nationwide retailer, locally, where we are the main overflow provider during peak periods.
Both these new customers were won over by the excellent service provided by Jack and his team. Rather than be a supplier who just provides bits of kit, Jack firmly believes in a partnership and consultative approach; understanding and delivering exactly what his customers need and helping them in any way he can.
This is an approach we follow across the whole of Dawsongroup truck and trailer, and one that has enabled Jack to develop excellent and close working relationships with his customers, and deliver on what’s promised.
Aside from looking forward to enjoying football, fishing and playing pool at his usual high standard in 2021, Jack is optimistic about the work challenges ahead and is determined to carve out a successful career, commenting: “I’m really excited to be extending my role across the whole of East Anglia in 2021. I’m especially looking forward to meeting new customers and helping companies from a wide range of industries.
