During the recent lockdown, we bucked the trend by keeping all our 23 branches across the UK fully open and we retained our full sales team. Our main priority was to support our customers through difficult and unprecedented times. Now, as businesses start to return to some sort of normality, we're preparing to support our customers even further in the challenging times ahead with the appointment of Richard Prosser to strengthen our Contract Hire team.
Richard, who’s based in the South West, joins Nigel Holmes and Chris Beckett as our third National Contract Hire Sales Manager to develop our strong 9% growth in contract hire over the last 12 months. Richard’s career in the commercial vehicle industry spans almost 30 years and he has been involved in the sector for most of his life. He had a good grounding from an early age as his father was an Engineer who also ran his own transport company in the Midlands during the 1980s.
After studying engineering, Richard joined Renault Trucks on its graduate training programme and worked in various roles throughout the company, including in its dealer network. He also spent time working for Scania GB Ltd and Mercedes-Benz UK Ltd in regional roles.
During his time in the industry, Richard has acquired a huge amount of knowledge and experience of contract hire products; and has developed the necessary skills required of a strong Sales Consultant to provide bespoke, sector-specific solutions.
Richard also holds a full LGV CAT C+E licence along with National and International Road Haulage Level-3 CPC qualifications. As a result, he is well-versed technically and is very familiar with all aspects of legislation relating to operating commercial vehicles.
