John Fletcher

Managing Director

John’s Dawsongroup career started in regional management in 2001. He became National Operations Director in 2007 and then Managing Director in 2011.

He's passionate about the business, focussing on service excellence, people development and long-term partnerships with both customers and suppliers.

John has consistently pioneered market-leading fleet innovations and is a strong advocate of road safety, ensuring that this is foremost in what we do.

Peter Snowden

Engineering Director

Peter started his career as a City and Guilds qualified vehicle technician.

He later ran his own business and has worked for Dawsongroup truck and trailer since 1994 in both operations and sales.

During his time with the company he has started and supported group maintenance support teams and developed control systems.

He has proven skills in management, sales negotiation and customer services - with awards along the way.

James Gysin

Contracts Director

James has a sales-focused contract hire and leasing background and has been with the company for over 26 years.

Having joined as a Branch Sales Manager in 1994, he soon progressed to running the Milton Keynes rental branch, delivering 20 years of year-on-year growth.

In 2015, he moved into a wider management position responsible for all our branch and rental activities in the south. He was subsequently appointed General Manager National and Key Accounts and then Contracts Director in 2020.

Nick McGowan

Operations Director

Nick joined us in 2011 as Branch Sales Manager in Manchester, where he increased turnover by 100%. Within five years, he became Regional General Manager (North), responsible for nine branches and achieving a record turnover and profit in 2015.

In 2018, his remit was extended to cover all customer fulfilment, service delivery and profit across our nationwide branch network.

Nick has over 10 years’ experience in operational management roles and driving P&L performance through maximising commercial opportunities and generating profit.

Matt Watson

Head of Fleet

Matt is an experienced and CPC-qualified fleet professional with a background in fleet management for specialist distribution and logistics operations.

He joined the company as Head of Fleet in 2019.

Matt is responsible for the efficient life-cycle management of our fleet across our 23 UK-wide branches and for ensuring that we have suitable assets available to meet our customers’ requirements.

James Hunter

Head of Remarketing

James is a vehicle and transport specialist with extensive experience in the service industry, transportation and logistics.

He has over 25 years’ multi-disciplinary experience including various senior management roles in both the private and public sectors in South Africa and the UK.

James is responsible for remarketing our used assets and maximising this income stream through a team of Sales Managers under our Dawsondirect brand.

Nick Reynolds

Commercial Manager

Nick joined Dawsongroup in 2011 and moved over to truck and trailer as Finance Manager two years later before taking on his current role in 2017.

He has a proven track record spanning commercial, financial and operational business functions.

Nick is responsible for managing the business's commercial risk profile in conjunction with delivering sustainable profit improvement throughout the company.
