And with that knowledge will come the power for operators across the country to start the vital forward planning needed before 2035, when the first Zero Emissions strictures make themselves felt.
In truth, they could be felt far earlier. Operators with three and four-year fleet renewals will need to make even more careful decisions as 2035 looms: planned upgrades prior to that date risking impacts from the legislation.
However, while the opportunity for operators to judge the abilities of Zero Emission trucks funded by the programme is exciting, the greatest impact will surely stem from the infrastructure demonstrations and the knowledge they deliver.
Lack of infrastructure is arguably the biggest threat to Zero Emissions’ progress as things stand, so this should help boost industry confidence. Dawsongroup will again be at the forefront, investing in trucks and trailers with the latest technologies as soon as they are proven viable for operators.
